Relaxing in the Dark Tavern

Kangae paused in her walking, slowly turning around in a circle - if it were possible to execute a noble pirouhette on this rocky road, the woman executed it well.

"There are mistakes made by everyone, from the highest to the lowest. Around us, the world bears the scars of our mistakes."

What a strange statement from *this* woman, of all people! Half of the dsetruction around her very well could have come from HER orders.

"Paradise is in the mind. The world dies, and is born again, and born again. Look closely, Adam", she met his eyes, her expression harsh, "at the blood of those whose own blindness, ruthlessness, ambition, hubris... makes them believe they are the only ones who deserve it. Our very conradictions are our blessing and our curse."

Her expression again softened. "We do not want pain and yet we cause it. We do not want sadness, and yet we draw tears from those around as as the sky gathers clouds. Ha, like it matters to waste time to analyse it. We are flawed - all of us - to the very core."

"Why Oakum wants his Paradise? I could not know, nor would I ask. His reasons are his own, as are mine. Is my paradise somewhere that requires a wolf and does not reside here? That answer is my own, and none should ask."

“Nobles are complicated,” Adam said simply before continuing on down the trail. What else could he say? His words were true; nobles did not have just a simple need or reason. There was always some sort of complicated history behind all of their motives. He wondered if nobles had ever been like simple humans. He wondered if nobles had ever just been happy with the lives they led.

Adam was glad he was born into this world as a human. His existence was between that of noble and beast. However, Adam did act more like an animal then he should have but oh well. He was a hunter, a predator, and in every way a master killer. Some considered him to be a beast in human form, and that was quite fine with him.

“In the end we will see what happens,” he said as he glanced back at Kangae. “Until then, let’s just go see some wolves, alright? We can worry about Paradise and the future later. You really need to let your hair down for a while and relax. We are not in city limits anymore. We are out in nature, and we have no need for such thoughts.”

"I agree" the woman said, simply. "After all, you are here to show me some wolves."

She chuckled, thinking back to the bartender. "That or find true love, yes?"
