Soft footsteps where heard out side of the great city of Astoria, the sun seemed to be in the middle of the sky, and a small black dog, was running towards it. Kicking dirt behind it. It stopped ten feet from the city, and slowly a woman was were the dog was at, panting heavily. She had her black hair down as it always was. She stared, at the city, and pass it, she saw the floating castle.
She cringed in disgust, feeling the hairs on the back of her neck stick up. Her coal eyes shimmered into a light blue, before going back to their onyx. She stayed in that spot for she didn’t know, maybe five minutes. But really to her, it felt like hours. Just staring to her nightmare. What called her back. She didn’t know. Was her flower maiden up? She hoped so, she walked forward into the city.
It was crowded, every one was scurrying along, so pathetically happy with their lives. She didn’t mind humans to be honest, it was nobles she had a knack of revenge for. Well except one, she had fun with. He was one of the greatest hunters on the side of Darcia. Adam. She smirked, he was so fun to mess around with. A challenge, she hadn’t had one of those in a while, to be honest.
When she looked up, she heard a cry in pain, she stopped, and turned her head over the corner, a little girl had been curled up on the ground, with a group of older men around her, kicking her. She felt a lump of coal get stuck in her throat. A punch to the girl, she wanted to shout at them, make them stop. The little girl in tears. Her nostrils flared, and she went to shout at them, but a menacing growl broke through the coal.
The men stopped, and what stood there, was a small black dog, glaring at the men, body perched up, and fur bristled to their highest, giving the generally small wolf, a foot of height. She jumped forward, and in a flash she was human again, bringing her leg up and in an instant down on one of the older men’s head, causing him to go face first.
The other men seemed to blink back what they just saw, as Sythe stood in front of the little girl. She seemed too grab on to sythe’s leg. ”Doggy...thank you” she whispered hugging sythe’s leg, and burrowing her head into her pants. Sythe paused, children did see more things then adults. She smiled, and almost forgot about the up coming danger, coming towards her face. She ducked, avoiding the punch, and grabbing the man’s wrist. He let out a scream in pain.
As he pulled away, and he looked to his group, he screamed again, as he saw the wolf there, running away. His group blinking, and following. She turned to the small child, and crouched over to her. ”My daddy owned them money...” she sniffled softly. She looked down, and hugged the child.
”My Name is Tara and who are you doggy?” ”I am Sythe, and just call me Sythe, not doggy.” she spoke, with a nod of her head. The girl blinked her green eyes, then nodded her head. ”Okay! My mommy is going to be worried sick, can you stay with me until I find her? Sythe blinked... well this wasn’t her way of having fun and looking for her maiden, but you know. She had nothing better to do.
She nodded her head.
