Creator:: Darcia

I am the voice that always is calling you ,I am the voice, I will remain
Link to picture.
Appearance:: Looking older than the other current flower maidens by about six or so years, she doesn’t share that many features with them beyond being female. Her hair is dark enough to be debatably black or simply dark brown and of a medium length; parted in the middle and seemingly trimmed with a knife.
Her skin is fairly pale, perhaps not pale for a “flower maiden” or a noble, but pale by comparison to some or most strains of human. As for her physique, it is easily athletic, but not to the extent it disguises or even confuses her gender. For some reason, her lips seem to be a somewhat pale, almost blue color.
Whether she bears a smirk, grin or even a laugh it never seems light-hearted or cheerful, but instead somehow intimidating.
Height:: 5’9”
Weight:: 110-130
Eye Color:: Blue
Normal Attire:: In general she seems to wear battle/survival gear of one sort or another, be it body-armor, gas-masks, helmets or whatever else; including soldier uniforms. More often than anything though, she wears things like T-shirts, jackets and long-pants, alongside boots of some given form.

I am the voice of the future, bring me your peace, Bring me your peace, and my wounds, they will heal
Personality:: A cold-blooded killer. The woman couldn’t even count the number of people who have met their ends at her hands. It’s not as if she doesn’t have any kindness or normality to her soul, but she seems to have been totally desensitized to the act of killing people and animals. Now granted, she only kills with a reason (normally ‘It was me or them’ (note the plurality)) and is by no means a serial killer, but she has a killing-streak longer than a video game score chart.
Socially she seems to be somewhat emotionally damaged. She’s not insane, but she certainly comes off as insane to some people. Kindness, anger, generosity, apathy and other such things are all present in her, but none are readily visible or apparent. The only things she seems to be missing are happiness and sadness; she never seems to be particularly happy or sad. Perhaps this is simply due to her status as a flower maiden, but much more likely it’s simply her status as her, rather than her debatable status as a flower maiden.
Romance is something she’s given a few tries. It’s not as if she didn’t ever have feelings for other people, but the truth is that such things always ended badly her attempted significant other, or they broke up with her when they found out how she lived most of her life. Truth is that most of the time one of her enemies from her past (or one of Darcia’s lackeys) ends up killing whoever she takes an interest in and Kal ends up getting blamed for it; a few towns have even issued a criminal record in her name for the murder of one of its citizens. In the end this kind of results in her shying away from any interest, and has resulted in a sex drive that’s colder than a frozen and snow-covered hunk of machinery.
Her status as a flower maiden is something she hasn’t even accepted, she believes it to be debatable (as do many other people, often finding it hard to believe that she could be anything like the other “innocent and pure-hearted girls” they’d heard so much about) and with good reason. She’s heard the legends just as anyone else in-the-know has, but will argue to the end of time that the fate of the world would never rest in her hands; she has no desire to change it for the better or the worse, she only wants to live in it – a task she finds impossible enough as it is.
Despite all of that, she has no delusions about what kind of person she is. She knows she’s a murderer and has accepted it. Kal doesn’t think herself a hero, nor has she placed herself amidst any other lofty ideals; but she kills because she thinks she has no alternatives to guarantee her survival and freedom to continue living outside of a lab.
That said, she is not without mercy. She lets people live (even though this has come back to haunt her a few times). Her idea of mercy is a little different than most people though, as she is also a believer in the idea of a mercy-killing.
And though she may seem fearless, she is not. The simple truth is that she chronically has nightmares (though you’d never guess it from watching her sleep), and she is simply more afraid of being trapped in a test-tube, unable to move, resist, live or feel while being poked and prodded with needles, having other people decide her life for her than she is of being dead. Simply put, she fears a feeling of powerlessness.
History:: The research into the creation of flower maidens actually went on for quite a while before bearing fruit. Most of the early models died within a very short span of time (sometimes as little as a few weeks from their conception or creation). Kal was the first (or at least one of the first) to have a fairly long life-span, meaning she was one of the only early models still alive to actually continue to live. The scientists and alchemists would have celebrated in joy, had they not realized she and the rest of her siblings were defective products about four or so years after their creation. Apparently one of the nobles working on the project had accidentally contaminated the basic human and flower mixture of DNA used to construct her and a whole line of her sisters, resulting in a series of flower-maidens not considered suitable for their project’s goals, essentially resulting in what was too much of a non-flower.
There was a great deal of debate on what to do with the generation of flower maidens, some figured they should be expunged and some figured they should be kept around for future research purposes (there was a great deal of ethical debate too, the question “wouldn’t we be killing our children?” came up a lot). In the end the project head decided that they should be expunged before Darcia found out that they had managed to waste four years of time before realizing their error.
A few of the developers felt otherwise and managed to smuggle Kal and some of her sisters out of the lab. Their actions did not go unpunished though. The project head managed to catch wind of their plan and attempted to intercept them, resulting in the deaths of those scientists involved, and most of the other flower maidens (perhaps all of them except for Kal).
Kal survived, and as far as she knows she’s the only one that survived, but this was all so long ago that she barely remembers any of it.
As her life went on, she found it to be a very unfriendly and dangerous place. For a few years she lived on the streets until she was adopted by a war veteran at age seven. The veteran had actually had a family before the war started and he adopted Kal because she sort of reminded him of them.
Of course he had experience raising kids, but he still didn’t know that much about it, and in the end he ended up teaching her a lot of the stuff he learned in the military (she always seemed interested in it for some reason he couldn’t discern) like physical training, the maintenance, cleaning and usage of guns and other such weaponry; as well as how to survive in hostile conditions.
She was only twelve when some particularly suspicious individuals came looking for her. Naturally her adopted father was opposed to this and the whole exchange ended with a blood-bath, particularly because of Kal who was the first to shoot (apparently it was one of the people who attacked the scientists who tried to help her, or so she believed at least).
Kal and her father fled their home, taking only what they could fit in a few backpacks before trying to start up another life somewhere else. In the end they spent the next few years on the run until eventually one of their annual gun-fights cost Kal’s father his life.
Years passed, but the fights never stopped. Kal tried to find a quiet life every now and then, but somehow fights always found her. Sometimes they weren’t even related to her being a flower maiden. Sometimes they were just soldiers fighting a war, sometimes they were particularly violent and dangerous thugs, sometimes they were people looking to catch Kal for the “crimes” she supposedly committed and sometimes they were friends, family or co-workers of some of her kills seeking revenge.
Several times she found herself attracted to someone, but they almost always ended up being taken hostage and died during her attempt to rescue them, or when this didn’t happen they caught wind of the fact she had killed people and were too intimidated or frightened to continue the relationship.
This all resulted in who she is today; a twenty-four year old cold-blooded killer, a defective flower maiden and someone whose life is constantly being treated as a commodity by others.
Lovers: Suspected Black Widow. All are deceased.
