Blood splattered against the alley wall. A yelp, and then there was silence. A puddle of blood had formed upon the ground, and a stream of the red fluid had started to make its way slowly to the street. The body of a white wolf was now laying up against the wall of the building. Its amber eyes were dulled in color and staring off.
Adam Kohaku emerged from the alleyway, stepping out onto the sidewalk. His long, dark hair was pulled up tightly and fell upon his shoulders and down his back in waves. His dark blue eyes glanced about with a quick movement. He looked to the right and then to the left before turning left and starting down the sidewalk.
The heat of the day had been incredibly hot, and now night had came to the city. Yet, the heat still clung to the city, and the cool down was very slow. The wolf hunter’s clothes held his frame tightly. His black tank top was form fitting and seemed to be even more form fitting from the sweat that rolled down his neck to his back.
Adam did not mind the temperatures. He could deal with extreme heat and extreme cold. There was a time when he spent all of his waking moments out on the street. He would sleep outside in the hottest of summers and in the coldest of winters. A bit of heat was nothing to him even when he had been running down a wolf in the city.
He had been tracking that wolf for a day. This one was not the wisest of wolves and had cornered itself in the alley. The wolf was an easy kill, and an easy kill was easy money. Adam debated whether or not he should celebrate his small victory. Hell, one beer wouldn’t kill him.
The hunter slipped into a convenience store and walked back to the coolers. He grabbed a few bottles of alcohol before going up to the counter. Adam slipped some money to the cashier and took his few steps to the door. He was glad to have a higher status. If he would have tried to by alcohol before, he would have gotten denied for his age. Now, he seemed to be able to get whatever he desired.

The day had been hot as it always been. Her eyes were narrowed to the street, she had managed to stay low for the past three weeks, but she still felt weak, because she had only been living off of rats, and birds. Nothing big or flashy, for her to live off of, and she decided, that it would be time to go get some human food. She had been an excellent thief so she managed to get money for food.
By the time she had enough money for enough food to last a week, she had found that the sun had long set. She paused, and looked up from the ground, and a group of men had been following her for the past hour.Turning a corner of an alley way, the group of men followed, as she paused, the alley way had been thick with it. The smell of blood, her eyes narrowed. Wolf blood. Fucking hunters. She turned to leave the group of men in front of her.
The men stared down to her, her eyes were cold on them. She wasn’t like them, she wouldn’t sink that low and kill them. She ran forward, in a flash the biggest of the men had been thrown into the street, hitting a lamp pole, bringing it with him. She jumped and her foot met the men’s teeth, she stood there, and she jumped off of him, the man falling on the ground. She stepped, landing in a pool of blood. She stepped out of it, a wolve’s paw in it.
Three of the men were left, she glared to them. ”I will kill you if you don’t leave.” she growled, her eyes narrowing, then them turning a light shade of blue. The men paused, and they saw her fore head pulse with the noble symbol on her head. The men paused, and screamed running in fear. She looked back. So young this one was.
She felt her hands curl into tight fists, her knuckles turning white. She turned the corner, and left the alley way. Her black hair following her, as she walked. She looked into a store, it was open. She looked to her feet, and walked in. Only barely noticeable bloody paw prints. She walked in, grabbing some water, and a bag of doritos, before walking past a man, who’s scent was vaguely familiar, but she could tell why, holding the water with one hand and eating dorito’s the bag thrusted between her body and arm, as she ate it.
Ahhh human food. So good.

Opening one of the bottles, the wolf hunter paused at the door. He went to take a drink but something caught his eye. Bloody paw prints, no bloody wolf prints were upon the floor of the store. Adam’s eyes widened as they began to follow the paw prints. They soon fell upon a girl; no they fell upon a wolf. The one who got away.
The girl no longer stood a few feet away from him. A wolf stood there, black fur with blue markings upon her face. This one could not hide her true identity from him. Adam was not one to forget a wolf who had caused his wrist great damage. How strange it was for him to chance run into the one he had been searching for.
“A wolf in sheep’s skin,” the hunter said softly as he took a drink from his beer. “One who can blend in without being notice. One who can hunt amongst the herd without being blamed. How convenient it is to have the one that got away come back to me.”
Dark blue eyes burned with fury. This would end tonight. He would end this taunting. He was a wolf hunter, and his prey would not get away again. He had made the mistake of underestimating her the first time, but his mistake would not be duplicated.

Her ears twitched, and she leaned against the wall. She heard him mutter to him self. She opened her drink and drank it, quickly. Before crumbling it up on the ground and throwing it on the ground. She looked over to him. She smirked to him, so it had been him. Filthy hunter. How disgusting was he, he felt cool he managed to kill a pup.
She stared to him, her eyes had been going back to blue, then to their black. She looked to him, then smirked. ”How’s the wrist?” she questioned. It was an up hill struggle being a wolf, with blood sweat and tears. Nothing to gain and every thing to fear. She felt her heart beat, it was going steady. Whilst any other wolves would be a quick beat against the chest. She looked to him, a proud smirk.
She bounced her body off of the wall and stared to him, her eyes narrowed. Before turning she ran She hadn’t wanted any one to interfere this time. She ran quickly, almost too quickly to be human. She jumped up landing on a second story balcony, she stared down to him and grinned, before jumping up again until she was on top of the roof of the building, she continued to run, now on another roof of a decaying building.
The building had been ripped apart and how it was standing would make anyone question, it had been ugly so buildings where put to surround it. Why any one didn’t destroy it was beyond the citizens. She stood there, waiting, she had been in her human form, she ran her hands through her hair, her eyes glowing a blue, now and the markings shining.

So, the savage beast ran, and the hunter followed. She was quick upon her feet; most wolves were. Adam ran with all his might after her. He did have the disadvantage of being a human, but he would not let her get away this time. She jumped upon balconies and up to roofs. He followed behind, running up fire exits and jumping over the gaps between the rooftops.
The wolf hunter could see his prey. She waited for him patiently, turning into what she really was. The sheep’s skin came off and her true colors started to show through clearly. She was readying herself for a battle.
Adam landed upon the rooftop, standing across from the female wolf. His hands grabbed his katanas and unsheathed them from his back. He was ready this time with blue eyes wide opened and his limbs ready to take any command he gave them.
“You will not get away so easily this time, she-wolf,” the hunter said, his stance becoming ready for a charge or a block. If she would come forward, he would be ready to defend himself. “You got lucky last time, but you will not be so lucky this time.”

She waited for him, and when he finally came she gave out a bored sigh. What took him so long, stupid hunters always so slow. She would think quiet bored. She looked to him, and grinned, her wolf teeth showing. As she grinned. ”It’s funny...I was thinking the same thing..just about you.” she snarled and what stood there was now a wolf.
One who’s fur was as dark as the night sky around her. The only thing that showed was really her eyes and odd markings on her fore head. No street lights touched around here, and perhaps that was why she chose her, she ran towards him, but faked him out, her going for his legs, but at the last second, she jumped over him, he could smell her fur, and feel the warmth of it against his face, but she had jumped to fast, and any reaction to it would miss her just barely.
She landed behind him with a soft thud and her fur perched up, her ears down. She had many tricks up her sleeve, her blue eyes glared to him, and her fur stayed perched as she growled to him acidly. She had been testing him that jump, she wanted to see how fast this hunter was. Her ears twitched and she could hear people talking about something below them. She growled, she came her so no one would be here, so no one could interfere or get hurt. She growled to him her pushing her chest out, so she looked bigger then she actually was, her muscles showing from her legs.
She then started to encircle around him, her eyes narrowed on her prey, he could hear the ‘clinking’ sound of her claws scraping against the ground, as she walked. Her eyes narrowed on him, ready to jump back or lunge forward if she would have too.

Adam was quick upon his feet. He was ready for her attack, and when she didn’t go all the way through he was aware of her movements. He could feel her fur brush up against him as she jumped over. The hunter made a few quick steps and was turned around facing where the wolf had landed. She had no changed her tactics. She still used her own tricks and kept him ready for a variety of moves.
“Is that all you have?” Adam growled. “A bunch of cheap tricks? Why don’t you actually attack me for once? Come on, get your meat.”
The wolf hunter charged forward, his eyes afire yet holding that same calculating gaze. He cared nothing for her wolf show of fur. He cared nothing for her snarling and growling. She tried to be menacing, but Adam was not afraid. He wanted to see her upon the ground, bleeding and whimpering with pain.
Adam jumped forward, slashing with his katanas. His hair whirled around him at his sharp, quick movements. He was no novice; Darcia had wanted his talents because he was one of the best of his art. If the wolf thought lightly of him, she would see the error of her ways. Adam did not use trickery; he used sheer strength and speed.

She snorted a wolf snort, and she stared to him. ”I don’t eat junk food.” she spoke to the hunter, as she continued to circle around him. Her eyes on him. She could hear his heart beat it was slow, he was use to this. He saw her as no threat, he would be wrong. Sythe was not the strongest of wolves, but she was one of the faster ones. Her ears twitched, and he came at her, really fast.
She ran towards him, ducking under his blade, she went to back him fall on his ass, her movements where fast, perfect. Her body worked well with on part to an other, her body was meant for running, not killing. She was fast, her legs worked as if she was a machine, made to only run. She may have acted as if she had only tricks, but she had more then tricks. Her ears twitched as the voice continued to speak, she growled to him, before jumping at him.
If he had been on the ground she would have went for his wrist, the one holding the blade. That was all she was worried about. The blade not him. Once the blade was gone, he would not be a threat, and she could leave. Although she would promise herself one thing, if he would touch her friend...Tanjun... that would be how he would die. That would be his death wish. Oh yes... it would be. The thought of Tanjun made her angry and he could hear her growls echo through the city as she lashed at him.

The wolf attacked relentlessly. Adam was able to swiftly move out of the way several times. He was well aware of the edge of the room, and his movements were sharp and swept to either the left or the right side. He could not afford to be pushed back and back until he had fallen off of the rooftop. At least she was a smart one; half of the wolves he ran into had no sense at all about them.
The hunter’s blades were like lightning. The raced upward and downward in quick flicks of his wrists. All the while, the katanas seemed to be drawn to the wolf as if they were magnets of opposite positions.
She jumped at him, and Adam had barely a moment to react. He sidestepped her, but found her teeth scraping against one of his arms. The wolf hunter gave a growl as he brought one of his katanas down toward the wolf, the blade racing after her movements.
Adam would admit; this wolf was a challenging one. All he wanted was to see her defeated, though. She made him look like a fool last time, and he wasn’t want another wildfire of rumors about him. He was a fierce predator, and he wanted everyone to know that.

She had avoided his attacks, as the blades came at her faster then most bullets. Luckily for her she was smart, she kept her self close to the man leaving no time to go for heavy swings that could cause massive damage to her, she snapped a this legs, and he danced away. She lunged for his arms, and he would side step, she never gave him enough time to attack a heavy blow. Which was smart on her move.
It was something like a deadly dance, once he would reach the edge of the building, he would push her back, once she got to the middle, she would snap at him, or jump to him, swinging her claws and snapping her jaws. Whilst she jumped he brought her blade down, she wasn’t able to force her self to go quickly, and his blade his her lower back, she let out a small yelp but it wasn’t but an unpleasant gash that she could live with. The blade had gone deeper before so this was nothing.
She turned to him, and lunged her body at him. Her eyes were shining at him, and she turned to him and growled acidly, this was fun. She would admit, she ran, she had been behind him, when she jumped at him, this was not something she did. The move was to tackle him, and she turned her human form while she had been in the air?
What? This would be completely unexpected.

His blade sliced through her lower back, leaving a gash in its wake. He had wounded her, but he did not allow himself to get cocky. Adam was definitely not his brother Kaine. Kaine had so much arrogance, but he was also quite powerful. Adam did not allow his strength to go to his head, however.
The she-wolf lunged forward at the wolf hunter. Adam was prepared for whatever attack she was going for. He was ready for her to bite at his legs or leap up at his arms. He was ready to see her flash those fangs and go to bite down on one of his limbs. He would be ready. He prepared his body; his feet were firmly planted upon the ground. But… Something was not right.
Adam jumped backwards as if an apparition had suddenly appeared before him. The wolf had changed into her human form and had caught the hunter off guard. He had no problems with killing a wolf in their human forms, but this usually happened without them randomly changing from one for to the other.
The female wolf barely missed a complete tackle. Instead she had hit him in the chest, and with Adam’s awkward movements in his legs he fell back upon the rooftop landing upon his rear.
“Goddamn,” he cursed, his nose wrinkling is dismay.

She fell forward as she missed, landing on her hands and doing a flip as she landed on the edge of the building. She hadn’t done what she wanted but she stood there, her eyes narrowed on him, as she giggled to him, bending over and looking towards him playfully. He was cute she’d give him that, but she would never give herself up to a human, that was disgusting.
She did a flip and landed on his chest, the stupid human didn’t get up when he had the chance, she sat down on his chest, each leg resting on his arm so he couldn’t move. She tilted her head to him. ”I am Sythe, telling that your still alive, your one of the Kohaku’s the fact you don’t have boobs, and havn’t hit on me... Adam?” she questioned him, with a smug look on her fact, as she stared down to him, with her curious eyes, most people would find this sexual but maybe even adam did.
But really in her wolf form, she had been sitting with him, with her front paws tightly on his wrists, her blue eyes looking down in his, her head would be tilted to the side, and one ear would be flopping forward. An adorable puppy, that any minute could rip out your throat. My favorite type of puppy! Sythe stared to him, her eyes questioning, she wondered why he had such a hate for her and her kind, but it wasn't like she could ask him or anything.

In an instant, the wolf was on top of Adam, pinning him down to the rooftop. She held his wrists with an unexpected strength. He knew that in a moment she could sink her fangs into his neck and finish him off. Why was it so damn difficult to defeat this one wolf? She had her wits about her. Maybe Adam had grown soft; oh how Kaine would laugh at him even for the thought. Wolves that were easy to pick off maybe had dulled his sense of being alert. He was use to finishing off a wolf in a matter of moments.
The she-wolf now was talking to him. She was telling him her name, and how she was figuring out who he was. Well, apparently she knew her Kohakus very well. He wondered if she had had any run-ins with his siblings, but he highly doubted it. Adam would have known of such things. His family was simply becoming well known and rather popular.
“I am Adam,” he said to her, his voice cold. He hated how he was in such a situation. He finally had a woman on top of him only she was a wolf and had just been trying to kill him. “I guess we are well known among wolves since we have killed plenty of your kind. But why are you talking to me? You should be killing me now. Why haven’t you?”
This was the first conversation Adam had had with a wolf in a very long time. He had spoken to wolves in his youth without knowing that they were truly wolves. He now knew of wolves and their ability to blend in with humans. How strange this all was for him. The thing he was trying to kill was having a conversation with him.

He spoke to her in a cold tone, saying what she already knew. She smiled to him and tilted her head. ”Because unlike you and your siblings, I only kill to eat, and I can promise you, that i have not eaten a human.” she spoke softly. Then stood up before jumping off of him doing a flip in the air.
”Besides, I have nothing against Darcia, it is Oakum and all he stands for I will kill. You have not killed any of my pack members, you come after me.” she spoke before walking to the ledge of the building, her back to him , blood leaking down her back. She stared down to the city as the memory leaked into her mind.
She was only a pup then, oldest of her litter. Her memory flashed, into her in a test tube, floating in her human form. The pain of the markings burned on her head. She winced at the thought, and turned to him ”Besides, your fun.” she giggled softly. Then looked back to him, expecting him to be lunging at her, ready to strike her down and kill her. She heard sirens in the distance, another crime. It was pathetic on how they worried more about wolves then their own race. She thought to herself. If he was going to be running at her, she would have simply jumped over him and kicked him in the back of the head.
The wound on her back however would need desperate cleaning.

Adam stood up quickly as she leapt away from him and took several steps away. His swords were still in his hands, and his eyes watched her movements carefully. So, he was alive because she did not have the taste for human flesh. Just great.
If Kaine would have seen all of this, he would have never let it down. Adam would have been plagued with relentless taunting. The long haired Kohaku could hear his brother’s voice in his head already. “You had her on top of you and everything?” Well, what Kaine didn’t know was for the best.
“I kill to eat. You should know how much that pretty little of head of yours is worth. In order to survive in my world, you have to make money.”
Adam tossed his head slightly, forcing hair out of his eyes. He sheathed his katanas. There was no point in having them out. Truly, the wolf had defeated him. She could have easily hopped off the building and left, but she stood there continuing to talk to him.
“I come after you because of our last battle. Wolf fangs do not fade too quickly when they pierce skin. I would know. I have had to hear about our last meeting for far too long. I do not plan on befriending you anytime soon, and I will continue to pursue you until one of us is dead.”
