Day turned to night in the city of Sionomed Divinos. The youthful generation seemed to flood out into the streets in every direction. Tonight would be like any other night. The youth of society would flock into the clubs, get blackout drunk, and make several regretful mistakes. Oh how society was moving up in such a horrible time period.
Adam Kohaku would be a part of none of these activities. He was in no mood to deal with morons. He was in no mood to deal with headache causing loud music. Truly, he was in no mood to be in this forsaken city. Why was he here? Really, he didn’t know. He went where his feet took him. They seemed to know exactly where he should be as if some supernatural force was guiding them in the right direction. He had a purpose in this city regardless of if he knew what it was.
Bass was what made the streets vibrate and pebbles move on their own. The music was loud, and sometimes the hunter wondered how the authorities had no care. Where there no complaints? Well, if he lived here he’d complain a few times. But this was beyond him. He cared not to live in any of the cities. He was a nomad who moved from place to place with no want to settle down. Hunting suited him perfectly.
Drunken laughter echoed off the walls, and Adam made his retreat from the club district. Noble brats could have their fun there. He was in no mood to deal with all of those people.
The long haired hunter made his way towards the edge of the city. Quiet finally met his ears. Part of the city had fallen asleep, and he was glad for that. Uphill his feet took him and when they stopped Adam stood against a railing, looking out towards the mountains. A sigh passed through his lips, and his mind seemed to find calm. The wretched music and activity of the clubs were far behind him. He now was left to his thoughts.

Kaine had been into every city under Darcia’s rule, he had been at every crevice away from the cities also. Knowing his hermit of a brother, he only went to the quiet bars, with the senile old men that yell at anything and everything that dared to talk to them. He checked there, and when his brother was not there he would do his own thing, and go to the most loud obnoxious club there was in the town.
If it was more obnoxious, then it would be more fun! Well for him, he had a high beer tolerance, so he could drink to the point where he almost got alcohol poisoning, also he would find a girl or two to sleep with. But he wouldn’t tell that too his brother, in fact.. he was sort of relieved that he couldn’t find his brother. Heknew his brother wouldn’t like the news he would receive. He shoved his hands into his pockets, and looked down. Kicking a rock, as the sun started to set.
He didn’t know how long he had been walking, but when he looked up. He was staring right at his brother. He paused, the rock resting on the toe of his shoe. He kicked it up, catching it in his palm. He then skipped the rock against the ground, the rock danced, and it would hit his brother in the stomach. He smirked, despite the fact the hairs on his neck standing up.
Adam had been the only thing that frightened him in the world. Good thing those two were like brothers right? He hoped the brotherly bond would still hold the two together after this. He forced a smile on his face, and he couldn’t help to be annoyed by the pricks growing on his tan body. He pulled his hair out of his face with a hair band, and looked to him.
”I have news for you!” he spoke his voice on edge. He was going to make sure he was as far as possible from his brother when he said this. ”You can just stay right there!” he said with a nervous chuckle. Looking around for the nearest escape places, preferably away from his brother’s vicious blade. Yup, so high tailing it behind him. He took a step back and grinned, rubbing the back of his head.
How to word this? He wished there would be witnesses around.

Something hit Adam in his stomach. A pebble. Well, maybe he should have been expecting this. As his dark blue eyes moved, they became fixed upon his brother Kaine who stood several feet away. Well, this was why his feet had stopped moving here. His brother was in this city and apparently Kaine brought news. Somehow, Adam knew this wasn’t going to be good at all.
Nervous laughter, and the older Kohaku was keeping his distance. Kaine had bad news. What could have been so bad, though, that he would keep such distance? Adam wasn’t like this. His stomach was turning inward, and he felt his muscles tense up.
Usually if Kaine came back from Darcia bringing news, well, it tended to be either more work or Darcia had stepped a bit farther away from sanity. Though, both were pretty much the same in essence. Regardless, how often had Kaine moved in such a way? How often did he keep several feet between the two of them before saying something?
A sigh. “Whatever it is, Kaine, just say it,” Adam said, surveying his brother. He could not take the suspense. This was part of the reason why he hated surprises. “Did Darcia say something to spook you? You are acting like a puppy that’s been struck a bit too hard.”

Ehehe how could he say this to his brother? The easy way, where is mind didn’t filter out his words? Or the complicated way that actually took time to say?”I saw Lord Darcia a few weeks ago.. He strangled a cat and had dinner with me....He also wants that paradise wolf you found..alive and brought to him.” he spoke, rather quickly. He actually felt bad for that wolf to be honest. If it would live, it would live a life of hate under Darcia, for it’s own kind, humans, and more then likely itself at the same time.
”But the good news is I get a wolf..” he spoke with a grin, trying to cheer his brother up. He waited a few seconds, should he duck and run? His brother didn’t do anything threatening. So he continued, his legs becoming anxious.
”I had to tell him some news, and your news was the only kind that came to mind..” he spoke to his brother, looking down, and then taking a step back. Uhm... he looked back to his brother, before taking a step forward. ”He wants us to get her.” he spoke again looking down. He knew his brother hated taking wolves in alive.

Adam’s blue eyes seemed to double in size as he listened to Kaine’s words, and he could not help but look away. His hand gripped the railing tightly. The metal made a nasty sound as it bent in underneath the pressure of the hunter’s fingers. To say the least, Adam was a bit upset.
At some point, Kaine needed to know when to close his mouth and stop talking. His words seemed to only fuel the fire that burned within Adam’s very being. Kaine really should have said nothing to Darcia about any of that. Darcia did not need to know all of those details. The noble did not need to know about Adam’s defeat and unsuccessful attempts at killing a wolf. He also did not need to know about conversations the two Kohaku brothers had together.
“Somehow, nothing you say is making me any happier with this situation, Kaine,” the long haired hunter said, glancing over at his brother with dangerous eyes. Kaine got the better end of the situation. He had never met this wolf, and he got what he wanted. Adam got nothing but more problems on his hands.
He let out another, longer sigh. “Kaine, we cannot give that wolf to Darcia. Regardless if she is a paradise wolf or not, we cannot hand her over to that monster. We… we just can’t.”
Adam looked away. Kaine did not know about Adam’s second encounter with the wolf. He had no want of handing her over to such a monster. Sure, he could hunt her down with no problem, yet he felt as though he’d be just as monstrous if he pushed her into a cage and handed her over to the noble.

Kaine paused and stared to his brother. His hand going to his fore head. He had been mistaken to be a wolf long ago. He gripped his fore head, and he looked down to his brother. Before taking two mighty leaps, and he was next to his brother, a hand on his brothers shoulder. It was us or them. He would do whatever it took to keep his family safe.
Although this behavior from Adam was a little bit of a change. He never showed any signs of caring for a wolf. Hell, especially one that got away. He can’t recall any wolves that “got away” when it came to that, no wolf got away. But this one. He looked to the railing, and he couldn’t look his brother.. his best friend in the eye. Sure he messed up this time, but with his wolf he could hunt down that paradise wolf, and leave Darcia happy for a week or two. That was fine enough for him.
”Don’t say that.” he spoke, even though he also though Darcia to be a monster. He looked down, his eyes closing. ”Listen... you said she was captured once. She had to escape if she was freed. This would be nothing to her.” he spoke trying to calm his brother down. Has.. this one, gotten to him? he would think to himself, as he leaned on the railing.
”You should go warn her..” he spoke softly, in a barely audible whisper, Kaine looked up to the sky, and crossed one of his legs. He hoped Darcia wouldn’t be too angry..if it took long to catch this wolf. He smirked.

The wolf hunter knew, deep down, that they would have to go after this wolf and capture her. They would have to hand her over to Darcia. What choice did they have? They did as the noble told them to, whether they liked it or not. No matter what is gut feeling was, Adam would have to track down this wolf yet again.
None of this was settling very well with him. He had no interest in wolves. He had no love nor care for the creatures either. He had always just called hunting work, had he not? Yet, why was this difficult for him to just swallow and accept?
The one who had gotten away had spared his life. She even had a conversation with him. Maybe if she had not opened her mouth, Adam would simply see this as work. What had been work now turned into leading the pigs to slaughter. That poor wolf.
“I will have to,” he said softly with a sigh. His fingers slipped away from the railing. “You and Lina come before any wolf would ever. We will have to capture her and take her to Lord Darcia. You two are my family, and I would do anything for you. I just… I’ll just make sure this wolf is prepared to be hunted down by two of the best hunters known to this world. I will have to let her know of the beasts that lie in wait for her.”
Adam would simply have to accept this. She was just another wolf, right? One out of the hundreds he had seen. Just this time, he could not kill her. He had to gift wrap her for Darcia.
“We should go camping,” the hunter said as he looked out towards the mountains. A change in subject was needed. “Lay out underneath the stars with a nice fire going. Just relax for the time being. I could also use some whisky right about now.”
