The pain had never been this intense. Had bullets never pierced the skin? They had. Bones had been broken and then broken again. Old scars were cut into once more and out came the blood. The hunters truly did overdo themselves.
Mina was unsure of how she had really gotten this banged up. She was not sure how many hunters she had even come across. She had gotten into enough sticky circumstances for the time being. She should have never let her guard down to begin with. The full moon had made her lose her judgment, and the hunter with the wolfen eyes had gotten the better of her. He seemed to have been but a starting point of trouble. Where had the other wolves gone? Mina was unsure of when she had lost her companions. She only hoped that they were alright. They had gotten split up. Had a hunter done this? Mina thought so, at least. She was unsure yet again. What had happened to her mind? Were her senses lost? Had she ever had her senses?
Searching for Paradise, what a suicidal thought. Yet, how she craved the scent of the flower maiden now. How it maddened her! She would find Paradise; she had to. Her mind would not stop. She could not simply lay down and die while fate flirted with her. Her mind wanted her to go on, but her body was not yet ready to run forward. Rest was needed and badly.
The city stunk of rot and rats. How long had she been there? Mina was unsure of when she arrived in the corrupted city. She had been laying in a hole in a wall alongside of one of the alleyways. The last time she had eaten or drank anything was alluding her mind. All she seemed to really remember or care to remember was the scent of the flower maiden.
A faint smell slipped through the silver wolf’s nostrils as she lay in the hole. Her head had been resting gently upon her front paws, and her dark eyes had been closed tightly. She ignored the smell at first, but with that smell came the familiar sound of footsteps and the movements of a human. A man was approaching the she wolf, and she slowly took note as she raised her head to look at the human.
“It’s alright, girl.” A man of about average height and size was slowly and carefully making his way over to the silver wolf. His clothes were faded, covered in dirt, and torn in several places. He had an old, worn out hat upon his head. A dusty brown beard framed his face. “I’m not going to hurt you.”
As the man got closer, kneeling down as he came within a few steps of Mina, the wolf let out a warning growl. She was in no mood for the antics of some human. Most humans had been out to hurt and kill her kind. She now knew not to let her guard down to anyone, especially any human. To him, however, she assumed she looked like an oversized dog who was done on her luck. He was no hunter. Hunters had a tendency of firing first and then asking questions later.
His voice lowered and softened as he said, “You’ve been through a lot. I am not going to hurt you, girl.” The soft eyed man pulled out a small package from one of the pockets of his jacket and a small flask from his other pocket. He opened the package revealing a small assortment of meat. Setting the open package close to Mina, the human then opened the flask.
Mina moved forward slightly as she sniffed at the flask. After looking back at the man, he started to pour out the water, and the wolf started to lick up the liquid. Mina instantly felt herself feeling much better than before, and when she was done drinking she quickly started to eat the meat the man had brought her.
After eating, the air between them seemed to become less tense. Mina allowed the human to reach out and scratch behind her head. She watched his movements carefully, but to bite the hand that feeds was a complicated and negative idea for her.
“Good girl.”

Golden eyes stared from afar standing on top of the roof of a building. His face had been shadowed, but it was obvious that it was male, broad shoulders that led to muscular arms, on his left wrist, he had bandages around it, a smirk played on his face, and under the shadows great golden orbs seemed to float. He looked down towards the scene and his fingers clenched into his palms, causing his hands to turn into a tight fist.
He looked back, before walking off. The hunt would end tonight, he had been following the silver she wolf for some time now, and he had been waiting for her to only slightly to heal, still hampering her abilities of speed, but not her fight, he doubted anything.. well almost anything could hamper her attitude. He took a stroll down the steps, his hands in his black khaki pants, his shirt a red vest with black under it. He stopped as a girl blushed walking past him. He smirked as he walked down the stairs and stopping staring at the entrance, and through the glass doors he saw the she wolf take food from the man.
She would be well fed when he owned her. He took a few steps outside, and no wind stirred. As he walked to the two, his hair had been out and covering his forehead, hiding the symbols, he stopped behind the man. ”There she is! Mina, i have looked every where for you..” he said running next to the man, then blinking. ”Thanks for finding her, sir. She is property of Lord Darcia, she got away some how though.” he said with a chuckle, as his eyes narrowed on her, a smirk appearing on his face.

“You.” Mina’s fur bristled up almost instantly as her eyes fell upon the hunter. The hunter’s voice was one she could not forget, especially after only being a short amount of time since last they had met. Those eyes and that face continued to haunt her still. And now, Kaine stood before her, putting on a show for this stranger.
The silver wolf began to snarl at once. She lifted herself up a few inches with all of the strength she could muster into those muscles. She was glad she had rested and eaten a bit, but her strength still alluded her. She was not going down without a fight.
The man stood up quickly, stepping in between the wolf and the hunter. “I beg your pardon, sir, but this animal is not too fond of you. If I was you, I would just continue on my way. No reason to trouble the wounded beast.”
Mina was grateful to this man who now stood up for her, but he could do nothing against the hunter. Humans were usually worse off than the beasts, but they never realize it until their demise is upon them.

He blinked, and his nose crunched up to his face, and a frown appeared over his smirk. He looked to the man, and most would think Kaine would have just been ignoring Mina, as if they were two adults talking and Mina was only a child, that had no say in anything. In all honesty that was a half truth, Mina didn’t have a say in anything.. well as far as Kaine had been concerned.
He narrowed his golden eyes to the man. ”Let me rephrase this.” he spoke, in a deathly tone. ”This beast.. is a wolf. I own her, and my boss is Lord Darcia.” he said, speaking as if a spoiled brat. In all honest, even Kaine thought he sounded like one, but this was one wolf he couldn’t let got, at first it was because of her looks, but now it was apart of the mission, he saw it as two ways, he could kill Mina, and that way was out. Or he could own Mina, and have her hunt down this black wolf for him, not that he needed help, but the company would be nice.
He smiled innocently. ”Do you understand, what i am saying.” he questioned, his golden eyes narrowing, as he crossed his arms. He didn’t like killing humans, in fact he was against it, no matter who you serve, that is unless they are a noble under Oakum, but Kaine was starting to believe that Nobles weren’t even human, just another monster to kill. Darcia.. was a prime example to that. But back to the subject, he would kill a human if he had too, and in this case, if the man would attack him.. he would have too.

“I really don’t care who you work for,” the man said, narrowing his eyes as he looked at the hunter. “All of you nobles are all the same.” A scowl formed over the man’s face as he looked at the hunter. The man had obviously had a hard enough life from his overall appearance. He looked as though he had been homeless. Much of the city’s population was homeless or just downright poor.
The man’s eyes slowly moved away from Kaine and looked down at the wolf. Mina looked back to the poor human, and she knew what he was about to do. His eyes told her so much in such a brief glance. For some reason, this man was trying to help her with all that he had. Sometimes, Mina could not understand humans at all. They were all foolish creatures.
The man quickly sent a fist Kaine’s way and in those brief seconds Mina quickly got up and took off. She did her best to run with the pain of her broken hind leg throbbing greatly with each step. She had to escape, though. She had to get away from this hunter. This was probably her only chance, and she took no time to move down the alleyway.

Kaine let out a sigh, fighting against wolves just made him realize how slow humans had been, he grabbed the mans fist, and with a flick of Kaines wrist, and he ducked throwing the man over his shoulder, and a hard splat was heard on the ground as the man landed on the cement hard, the cracking of his brittle bones Kaine could hear.
He let out a sigh to the man. ”Your a fool.” he muttered, before running after the wolf, he was fast, not as fast as his siblings, but the ground didn’t seem solid as he ran on it, he could see the she wolf struggle against her wounds, and he felt bad. He didn’t like seeing an animal in pain.
He jumped forward, and with one great leap, he landed in front of her, his hands curled up into a ball. ”I don’t want to harm you anymore, but this time you won’t get away, darlin.” he spoke with a wicked grin, as suddenly as if out of no where, the scent of on coming rain appeared in the air. Rain was random now a days, and when it rained.. it rained. Cold, droplets that would freeze the bone, surprisingly it wasn’t snow.

Mina slid to a halt as the hunter appeared before her. Again, here he was right in front of her, blocking her path. Why did he continue to pester her? Why was he so bent on capturing her? She was a wolf like so many others, yet, he continued to hunt her down relentlessly. Of course, she would have to be one of the rare wolves that were hunted down specifically to be captured.
“You are insufferable. Why won’t you just leave me be? I am no more special than some of the other wolves. I am sure there are wolves willing to hop right into your lap and hunt down wolves for you without question. So, why me, goddamn it! Out of all the wolves, why must you stalk me?”
The silver wolf gave a growl before lunging forward at Kaine. She was not willing to wait for a response. She just had to get passed him. She had to get out into one of the main roads. Maybe then she could make a mad dash to one of the exits.
Mina came before the hunter with her teeth bared. She pounced at him like she had in their last battle. She wasn’t really aiming anymore. She just wanted to break through. Desperation clung to her body with a deadly grip.

He sighed, as she ranted to him. Oh how emo had she gotten. Of course he would hope she wasn’t this depressive when she was his pet. Or else he was starting to see no reason to hunt down this particular wolf. He blinked, as she finished her rant. He opened his mouth to answer, bur soon he found that she lunged at him. His eyes narrowed, as he jumped towards her. This ended the hunt.
His eyes looked her over one last time, as he went low, as she was jumped forward his shoulder would knock into her legs, causing her to tumble to the ground beneath him, or she could alter her direction, but Kaine had a plan for that, he would bring his fist in the direction in an attempt to hit her in the head, two blows to the head from Kaine’s mighty fist would be able to knock out any man, ten times her size, for three blows from his fist could kill a man.
He narrowed his eyes, but he knew this was no man. No this had been a wolf, a savage beast who would have from the moment they were born into this hell of a world learned how to survive, only the toughest did. He smirked, and he was the toughest right now

The wolf crashed and tumbled to the ground. What strength she had left had instantly disappeared with the collision. Her broken leg was throbbing with an entirely new wave of pain and discomfort. Had he hit her anywhere else? She was unsure. Her head was pounding and her body had given up on her.
Rain began to fall first lightly at first, but came down faster within a few moments. Mina found herself struggling to get up. Her legs would not straighten. They would not pull up all of her weight. Instead, she kept falling to the ground, but her want to escape was still alive and well. Her body just could not handle her want to flee.
“This is what you wanted.” Mina looked up to the hunter, the eyes of a tired and beaten girl gazing up to those fierce golden eyes. Her wounds had open anew. She could still feel the bullets within her that had been fired the last night they had met. Her body had given up on her, but her mind was still screaming for her to run.
Her eyes closed as her human head laid down into the mud that was quickly forming from the rain. Defeat was a hard pill to take.

He let out a sigh, as he watched the wolf struggle against her body, to run. He could see it in her eyes, but her body had been weak. He wouldn’t force her to walk. No he wasn’t Adam, cause he had a feeling Ada, would do that to a beast. He smiled to her, a kind smile.
”I knew you would see things my way!”
His voice had a cheerful tone in it, and he looked over her wounds, crouching on one of his knees. It would take a while for those to heal, but he was more worried about her broken bones. He ran his fingers over her fur, no fear in his eyes, but then again.. there had never been fear in his eyes.
He smiled, and picked her up careful not to touch her wounds. He stood up, hoping she wouldn’t struggle, that would just cause her more damage on her already risky wounds. He had no use for a pretty, but useless beast. He guessed that it would take a month or two until she would be able to walk on her own. But he planned on introducing her to Darcia as soon as she rested up a little, in a week or so.
He turned his back to where she had been laying, her still in his arms, and he looked down. His eyes locking with hers. ”So.. what does this make you... a lap dog of a lap dog..” he spoke, and in his voice.. the sick satisfaction he got from saying this.

A sickening feeling gripped hold of Mina’s stomach as she felt herself being lifted up by the hunter. Now, he held her in his arms as if she had asked him to help her up. His words were as if he was putting salt in her already stinging wounds. The sick bastard was enjoying himself thoroughly. He had gotten what he wanted, and now he was giddy as hell.
Mina bit at him, but really it only appeared as if she was clamping her teeth down together. She couldn’t even lift her head up far enough to bite into the hunter. Even if she had tried to bite him, he would have probably ended up punching her in the jaw. Struggling had now become utterly useless.
“I will… make you regret those words,” the wolf said as she slowly closed her eyes and drifted into unconsciousness.
